Minnesota Meat Goat Producers

The Minnesota Meat Goat Producers are a group of dedicated individuals who volunteer their time for the purpose of connecting, educating, and informing MN meat goat producers.  We are not an association but an organization of meat goat producers who want to help each other succeed in the meat goat industry.  We strive to share practical information on marketing strategies, economics, environmental stewardship, breeding, showing, nutrition and all around animal health.

In early 2010 the MMGP reorganized and established an executive committee to continue the work and high standards established by the MMGP founding committee.  At that time the following goals were established:

·                      Provide educational services and producer communication channels through website, events, and newsletters

·                      Sponsor an annual Goat Expo

·                      Promote goat meat as a healthy and delicious alternative to more well-known meats

The executive committee meets regularly to plan educational events and discuss various issues affecting the meat goat industry.  Anyone who is willing to dedicate some time to the improvement of the meat goat industry is welcome to participate on the executive committee.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, contact any of the committee members listed below.

The MMGP committee has developed this site as a tool for all MN Meat Goat producers to connect and share information regarding the meat goat industry.  We hope this becomes a "MN Team Effort" to develop a useful resource for all.  If you have information or a link that you think would benefit Minnesota meat goat producers please send the information to Kelly Anderson and it will be evaluated for inclusion on the website.
